Pure Vegetarian Restaurants in Dubai – Restaurant Chains

When travelling with my parents or in laws, dining in a “pure” vegetarian restaurant is nothing less than sheer joy. Not that we don’t go to Veg Restaurants (serving both veg and non veg food), but the mere fact that the restaurant does not serve any non vegetarian food at all, gives them a satisfaction of a totally different level.

Thankfully, Dubai has restaurant chains that are “Pure Veg” and do not serve any non vegetarian food at all. So without any further ado, let me talk about the Pure Vegetarian Restaurants Chains of Dubai.

Kamat Restaurant

Kamat has restaurants at 8 different locations in Dubai. Kamat serves pure vegetarian food only. It is an all in one place to satisfy your cravings for North Indian & South Indian food.  Kamat also offers mouth watering pani puris , chats, samosas and all the popular street foods of India.

You can find Kamat restaurant in the Persia Court of Ibn Batuta Mall, and in City Centre Deira. Apart from that, Kamat restaurant is also present in popular areas like JLT (Jumeirah Lake Towers), Business Bay area, Al Raffa, Al Qusais, and near Safeer Market.

There is also another branch of Kamat restaurant in Dubai Internet City, but that is located inside an office premise. Though it is open to the general public, it may be relatively difficult to find it.

Puranmal

Puranmal is famous for its Samosas. Ask anyone who lives in Dubai, and they would swear by it. Puranmal’s samosas are the most commonly and frequently ordered item in office get-togethers and house parties. Apart from Samosas, their noodles are also one of the most frequently ordered items. Well, it doesnt mean that these two are the only highlights at Puranmal.

Puranmal also serves both north and south Indian food and other popular street food items. Puranmal has around 15 different outlets in different areas of Dubai. So, do not miss to try Puranmal while on your Dubai vacation.

MyGovindas

MyGovindas is a pure veg restaurant chain in Dubai. Dubai’s insider’s fact– MyGovindas is the partner for preparation and distribution of Prasadam for ISKCON events.

They have outlets in JLT, Silicon Oasis, Karama, Deira Waterfront and near Miracle Gardens in Al Arjan. You can satisfy your Indian vegetarian food cravings at MyGovindas, if you are visiting these areas.

Bikanervala

The name Bikanervala needs no introduction, if you are from North India, especially Jaipur, Bikaner or Delhi NCR region. Started in 1905 in Bikaner, Rajasthan, Bikanervala now has 100 outlets in 6 countries, including Dubai.

In Dubai you can dine in Bikanervala at 22 different locations. Bikanervala also has a breakfast special menu, for delivery and dine-in, if you want to start your day with chole bhature or bedmi puri, just like in India.

Saravanaa Bhawan

Sarvana Bhawan is another popular name for vegetarians. While I lived in Europe, Sarvana Bhawan restaurants in Belgium, Paris and Germany were one of our trusted places to eat, for those immense Indian food cravings of Dosa and street foods.

In Dubai, Saravanaa Bhawan restaurants can be found in popular areas like Al Barsha, Karama, Oud Metha, Deira. There are 10 different outlets of Saravanaa Bhawan in Dubai.

Apart from the above listed “pure veg” restaurants of Dubai, there are quite a few popular restaurants that serve both veg and non-veg Indian  food like Gazebo, Indya by Vineet, Mughal e Azam, Paratha King, Dhaba Lane, Khau Galli and Chatori Galli, among others.

Asha’s in Wafi Mall is a popular restaurant by the melodious Asha Bhosale, the legendary Indian Singer. If you plan to visit the Aya Universe in Wafi Mall, then Asha’s is a popular choice to dine in.

Thali Restaurants in Dubai

If you crave mouth watering Gujarati and/or Rajasthani thalis then you are in great luck, while in Dubai. There are plenty of vegetarian Thali Restaurants in Karama and BurDubai area like Rasoi’s, Maharaja Bhog, Kathhiyawadi, and Rajdhani. In JLT, Sagar Ratna serves amazing Rajasthani and Marwari food.

Insider’s Tip – One of the must scenic place to dine while you satisfy your Rajasthani food cravings is Chokhi Dhani, in Al Seef – Dubai Creek area. This is the only place where you can experience the Indian Chokhi Dhani feel and vibe with Mehendi, live Rajasthani folk music and rustic Indian culture, by the sea, in Dubai.

If buffets are what you fancy, then Kitchen 6 is one great visit near Dubai Mall, Burj Khalifa area.

Another must visit is  Taj Shamiana in JLT. With amazing views and mouth watering food, your buffet meal at Taj Shamiana, JLT is going to be no less than a culinary delight. They also have live music during weekends.

South Indian Restaurants in Dubai

You can find great South Indian food at Puranmal’s, Bikanervala, Sagar Ratna, Govinda’s and Kamat. Apart from these, another must try place for south Indian food is Dosa King. Their multicoloured idlis (beetroot, turmeric, spinach idlis) are a must try.

Yumm Dosas in Discovery Gardens, has a very delectable menu of fusion dosas with amazing flavours and great taste.

Parathas in Dubai

If you are craving those homemade parathas with aaloo ki subzi, chana, pickle, and curd, then don’t forget to dine in or order your food from Paratha King. Their parathas are amazing and have that touch of ‘maa ke haath ke parathe’ – feeling of parathas made by your mum in India.

Parathas are also available in Bikanervala, Puranmal, Kamat, Khau Galli, and most Indian restaurants.

There are many pure vegetarian restaurants in JLT like Govindaa’s, Kamat, Bikanervala and Sagar Ratna. You can also dine in at Dhaba Lane, Khau Galli or Chatori Galli when in JLT.

Pure Veg Restaurants in Bur Dubai and Karama include Sarvanaa Bhawan, Puranmal, Rasoi Ghar, and Maharaja Bhog.

In JBR, you can dine in at Indya by Vineet, Bombay Bungalow at JBR beach or India Palace to satisfy your Indian food cravings.

In Marina, you can find Indian food in Zafran Indian Bistro and Indian Access.

If you are visiting Dubai during winters (from November to March), then Global Village is a must visit place to satisfy your food cravings from India and around the world.
