What is the Aya Universe?
Is it a theme park ? No, I wont call it a theme park.
Is it a museum ? May be, May be not. Depends who you ask.
Is it a play zone ? Not exactly?
Then what is it?
I think I may call it an indoor gallery that gives the illusion of being transported to a different universe.
The official website of Aya Universe mentions that, “it is a 40,000 square feet space, powered by high tech sound, lights and graphics.”
The Aya Universe is divided into 12 different immersive and experiential zones. Some of them are outstandingly breathtaking and beautiful, some may seem overwhelming, and some may seem like a mirror chamber of illusions and lighting. But even the mirror chamber is highly advanced, magnificent and something that you surely would not have experienced before, at the scale and grandeur that Aya Universe offers.

Aya Universe Location
Aya Universe is located at the first floor or level 1 of Wafi Mall, on Oud Metha Road, in Umm Hurair 2, Dubai.
Wafi Mall is an Egyptian themed mall and is also referred to as Wafi City.
With its giant statues of Egyptian Pharaohs and sphinxes, the mall surely gives you the feeling of being transported to Egypt.
Wafi Mall feels like just the right place for the Aya Universe’s location. Enter the mall and you are transported to the magical Egyptian world, enter the Aya universe and experience an alternate universe altogether.
There is also a light and sound show held at Wafi Mall in the evening. So make sure to plan your visit to the Aya universe in the afternoon or evening, and stay for the light and sound show.
However, morning hours are usually less crowded. So, you can also visit the Aya Universe in the morning, and spend the rest of the day shopping, dining and clicking Instagram worthy pictures inside Wafi City.

How to get to the Aya Universe by metro?
There is no direct metro connectivity to WAFI Mall. You can take the Green Line metro to reach Dubai Healthcare City Station. From there it is a 6 min walk to WAFI city.
Aya Universe Parking
If you are driving to Wafi Mall, then you can avail the WAFI valet parking service. Or, you can park in the Carrefour Parking of the Mall.
What are the 12 zones of the Aya Universe?
The Aya Universe is divided into 12 distinct zones: Aurora, Drift, Outland, Luna, Celestia, The Pool, The Source,The River, The Falls, Tides, Flora, and Harmonia. As the names may sound mysterious, so I have shared a glimpse of the unique themes of the 12 zones, in the image below.
The 12 zones of Aya Universe lets you experience virtual reality through dynamic experiences that transport you to a different cosmos.
Aya Universe Dubai Tickets
Aya Universe Ticket Price is 125 AED both for walk-ins at the reception counter, as well as online bookings.
Entry Tickets to AYA are available free of charge, at the counter, for children under 3 years.
Entry Tickets are also available free of charge for People of Determination and one caregiver.
To avail the free tickets, the Customer Service Team may ask for the Id card and/or a proof of eligibility.

Aya Universe Review
I went to the Aya Universe, during the weekend. The weekend morning was a bit crowded inside the Aya Universe, even though the Wafi Mall had not started getting busy yet.
Just when you enter the premise of Aya Universe, the entrance area is called Aurora. At the reception desk, the staff handed us our cosmic Passports for the Aya Universe. Along with the passport, you get a sticker sheet with 12 stickers. You can paste the stickers inside your Aya passport, much like stamps, as you pass through each of the zones inside the Aya universe.
Honestly speaking, the Aya Universe seemed a bit overwhelming for my senses, just when I entered inside. We went to the source first. Then the pool and on to the river. During all this time I did feel light headed and dizzy. But by the time we reached the queue for getting clicked at the pool, I started feeling better again.
I liked getting clicked at the Pool, the mirror chamber of Tides, and the beautiful Luna. Outland did not look quite exciting to me. The source and the river were again ok. The Drift was nice with the laying down experience of stars. But the Flora is what I found truly outstanding.
While I was ok with the crowd in most of the zones of Aya Universe, still I really felt the pinch in the Flora zone.
Flora does seem like you’ve found yourself on the sets of Avatar. If you are a fan of the movie, there are plenty of shots that you would wish to take in this zone. But so would everyone else.
It was difficult to manage a single shot without getting others in the picture. So in the end either you manage to get your picture with minimal background, or a picture photobombed by so many posers.
Nevertheless the Flora is undoubtedly worth every single minute you spend inside.
It took us around an hour to cover all the 12 zones of the Aya Universe.
They also have a nice gift shop with Aya Universe merchandise and some other items.

Is Aya Universe suitable for all?
Aya Universe is PH friendly and they offer free tickets to people of determination.
However, it must be noted that Aya Universe is a vibrant multimedia experience. It may not be suitable for those sensitive to flashing lights, loud noises, and dark spaces.
Is Aya Universe worth it?
For me, visiting the Aya Universe was a unique experience. It was totally worth it, as I am a big fan of Avatar.
Kids would enjoy it, for sure.
Adults, I believe, would either love it or hate it – so it’s going to be a feeling that is an extreme end of the positive or negative spectrum.
For Avatar Fans and Instagram worthy pictures, Aya Universe Dubai, is going to be an absolute delight and a must visit.
What time slots are available for the Aya Universe?
Aya Universe opening hours are from 10 am to 10 pm, from Sundays to Thursdays. On Fridays and Saturdays, Aya Universe timings are from 10 am to 12:00am.
The last entry is 1.5 hrs before closing.
How long does it take to see the Aya Universe?
It took us one hour to see the Aya Universe, on a not so crowded day.
On a busy day, you might take 2 to 2.5 hrs also, to see the entire Aya Universe.
However, if you want to take more pictures, it may take longer – for the setup and to get the timing right for the perfect shot.
Instagram worthy spots inside the Aya Universe and Wafi Mall Dubai
All of the 12 zones inside Aya Universe have a lot of Instagrammable spots. But if I have to name my favourites, then that would be the Flora, Luna, Aurora, Pool and the Tides.
Inside the Wafi Mall, the statues of Pharaohs and Sphinxes, and the Egyptian architecture would surely add charm to your Instagram feed.
Other things to do in Wafi Mall Dubai
Enjoy the sound and light show in the evening. There are plenty of shops and restaurants inside Wafi Mall. If you are an Indian and Asha Bhosle’s fan, then you can choose to dine at her restaurant Asha’s, inside Wafi Mall. Also do not miss to try some cashews, dates and other delicacies at the Wafi Gourmet. It’s a must visit, when in Wafi mall.
Best time to visit Aya Universe
It’s best to avoid the rush when visiting the Aya Universe. So preferably weekdays are better suited. On weekends, you can still go in the morning or early afternoon, to avoid the rush.
